چکیده

The City of Ventura has rapidly rising housing costs. Several explanations have been offered for this increase in housing costs including: 1) the adoption of growth management; 2) the area’s amenities (beaches, weather, etc.); 3) population growth without adequate housing production; and 4) in-migration of persons who commute to their jobs in more expensive housing markets such as Santa Barbara County, other parts of Ventura County, and parts of Los Angeles County. Each of these explanations has merit and likely all contribute, to some degree, to increased housing costs in Ventura.
